BJ Miller & Shoshana Berger
BJ Miller, MD, is a hospice and palliative medicine physician, author, and educator. He previously served as the executive director of San Francisco's Zen Hospice Project and now works as the co-founder of Mettle Health, helping patients and caregivers navigate the practical and existential challenges of illness and disability. Guided by his own experience as a triple amputee patient following electrocution, BJ advocates for more human, personal end-of-life care.
Shoshana Berger is an author and editor dedicated to communications and storytelling that help people understand things differently, from end of life care, to modern Judaism, to school lunches. Based on personal experience as her father's caregiver as he navigated dementia, Shoshana identified a need to better educate and equip people with resources for preparing for and navigating death.
